Freezy Freakies

I told James he would be psyched when he saw my post for today. I said it was another eighties blast from the past--wait for it--"freezy freakies." To which he looked at me blankly and said, "Huh?" And I said, "You know! Those gloves that when you went outside in the cold pictures would appear! Like robots or unicorns!" He said, "It must have been a Delco thing."
Whatever! It was so beyond Delco, boy! Those things were rad!

i loved this, considering i think about freezy freakies on a near-daily basis in winter (they were not just a delco thing). i guess i need to remind myself that the cold didn't always mean drudgery and misery. there's a pretty awesome robot pair going on ebay for like $30, '80's originals. i'm scared to buy them, though -- i still have no idea how they work. they're probably highly carcinogenic by now, if they weren't to begin with.

Those things were massively popular.

I think you're forgetting that James was 28 years old when those came out.
